Silicone Hydrogel Lens Materials
Definitive (Efrofilcon A) is a new generation of Silicone Hydrogel daily wear material with a Dk of 60 and a water content of 74%. The oxygen permeability of Definitive is the highest available to manufacturers of lathe cut hydrogel lenses and is achieved with an exclusive blend of Fluorosilicone and hydrophilic monomers. Its Dk is significantly higher than conventional hydrogels and promotes improved corneal health. The high water content material has a low modulus which exhibits exceptional on eye water retention combined with excellent stability. Definitive also provides an inherently wettable lens surface that does not require surface treatment. Definitive has outstanding on eye comfort and can be produced in all of our Intelliwave designs, as well as KeraSoft IC. Definitive is available in clear, or with a blue handling tint.
Hydrogel Lens Materials
G3X (Hioxifilcon B) is a daily wear material made up of high performance G-materials (monomers) resulting in specifications of a Dk of 15 and a water content of 49%. Glycerol Methacrylate is the primary hydrophilic monomer in this material which is responsible for the on eye characteristics. This material loses less than 1% of water on the eye during daily wear which helps retain oxygen permeability and stability. This material exhibits good characteristics in end of day comfort, wettability and visual acuity. G3X is available in all four Intelliwave designs: Asphere, Toric, Multifocal and Multifocal Toric and available in a blue or clear handling tint.
GM Advance (Acofilcon B) is a daily wear material made up of highly purified monomers resulting in a Dk of 16 and a water content of 49%. The characteristics of the purified monomers in the GM Advance resist dehydration longer and re-hydrates faster than comparable materials. This allows the material to exhibit exceptional on eye stability, water retention and durability. GM Advance is available in all four of the Intelliwave designs: Asphere, Toric, Multifocal and Mulfitocal toric. GM Advance has a blue handling tint.
