Ampleye Now Featuring Aberration Correcting Optics

Art Optical is pleased to announce that their Ampleye scleral lens design now features advanced aberration correcting optics. This fully-automated, anterior surface technology neutralizes the unwanted plus or minus power inherently present in the optical zone of the lens to deliver a consistent power profile. Correcting and controlling lens aberrations insures predictable acuity for the patient regardless of the lens position on eye. Ampleye’s aberration correcting technology is a result of Art Optical’s ongoing collaboration with Pacific University.

In contact lenses with traditional optics, both plus and minus powered lenses increase in power from the center of the lens to the periphery, sometimes resulting in “ghosting” or double-imaging for the patient, despite not manifesting any residual cylinder. With advanced aberration correction, these visual anomalies are eliminated, and the exact prescribed power is measurable and completely uniform at all chords across the lens surface.

As a full-featured scleral design, Ampleye is fit diagnostically with the aid of an affordable and efficient 9-lens fitting set. Rx lenses are available in diameters from 15.0 to 17.0 mm, and design options include anterior surface toric and multifocal optics, quadrant specific control technology, and Tangible Hydra-Peg surface coating on lenses made in Optimum materials. Additionally, Ampleye is FDA-indicated for the management of Dry Eye and Ocular Surface disease.

Falling in line with their high service standards, Ampleye lenses are competitively priced, backed by Art Optical’s comprehensive warranty programs, and manufactured and shipped within 24 hours of order.
