Ampleye Scleral GP Now Offered in Reduced Diameter Options
Jan. 11, 2018
Art Optical is pleased to announce that their Ampleye scleral lens design is now available in 15.0 and 15.5 mm diameter options. While the standard design is an exceptional irregular cornea option in the optimal 16.5 mm diameter, practitioners are increasingly interested in reduced diameter scleral designs for patients with smaller horizontal visible iris diameters (HVID) and small or tight fissures.
After several months of beta testing with KOL’s, practitioners have remarked that the smaller Ampleye lens has proven successful in avoiding pingueculas and blebs, optimizing multifocal centration, and improving patient handling. The new smaller diameter availability, combined with Ampleye’s recent 510(k) FDA clearance for therapeutic management of ocular surface disease and dry eye, expands the range of potential Ampleye patients exponentially.
As a full-featured scleral design, Ampleye is available in diameters from 15.0 to 17.0 mm. Additional design options include anterior surface toric and multifocal optics, quadrant specific control technology, and Tangible Hydra-Peg surface coating on lenses made in Optimum materials.
Current Ampleye fitters will be pleased to note that fitting the reduced diameter Ampleye does not require additional diagnostic lenses as a simple saggital depth conversion calculation from the 16.5 mm Dx lens will produce the same successful initial fitting results. For practitioners preferring to work with smaller scleral lenses, 9-lens diagnostic sets are available in the 15.0/15.5 mm diameter for immediate shipment at just $250. Comprehensive fitting tools are easily accessible at www.artoptical.com/ampleye/.
Falling in line with their high service standards, Ampleye lenses are competitively priced, backed by Art Optical’s comprehensive warranty programs, and manufactured and shipped within 24 hours of order.
