Art Optical becomes Menicon Z Authorized Manufacturer

Art Optical Contact Lens, Inc. is pleased to announce the recent approval from Menicon Ltd. of Japan for the manufacture and distribution of Menicon Z material in the United States. With a Dk of 163, Menicon Z offers extraordinary levels of oxygen permeability, along with exceptional breakage, scratch, and deposit resistance when compared to other high and hyper-Dk materials. The only GP material with FDA approval for up to 30 days of continuous wear, Art Optical has experienced consistent practitioner demand for Menicon Z, and will offer the material in the full range of custom designs, including toric options and their proprietary Renovation® multifocal platform. The company will begin accepting lens orders on June 16, 2008.

Additional information on Menicon Z, and Art Optical, may be located on the company’s recently re-launched corporate website, www.artoptical.com. The new site offers a wealth of GP and custom lens fitting information, and includes a new “Ask-A-Consultant” feature, a practice management section, and a multitude of additional resources commonly referenced by contact lens fitting specialists.

Established in 1931, Art Optical Contact Lens, Inc. specializes in custom contact lenses made to exacting standards for the correction of refractive errors including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia, as well as custom contact lenses by practitioner prescription for pediatric patients, and those with post corneal trauma, pathological concerns, and ocular disease.
